This is the mother duck that inspired my "total" illustration. She is back this year with 13 (count them!) babies, that I think were born on the 13th. They like to hang out at our bird feeders in the back yard every year. Today she had them all under her wings (as in my illo) but I could not photograph her because it was pouring rain. Very lucky ducks. I love ducks, but for some reason they don't appear in my illustrations - something I will have to correct.
Did you know that the large flight fears [tips of the wings] make excellent drawing pens?Its a simple process to make a quill pen - lovely things to draw and write with. Anyway, your blog is a pleasure to visit, thanks for sharing and visiting my blog so often.
