Snap! - Illustration Friday

Squirrel realized too late that he chose the wrong branch - SNAP!

This is colored pencil on regular old drawing paper. I was on my first childless vacation (with my husband!) this weekend and was not going to post at all, but I ended up having some time today. So here it is!
Last week's post I had to take a digital photo of, and I was not happy with the result. I decided that I will try not to do illustrations for IF that are too big for my scanner!

This is very nice! It's a clever idea, and I love the expressions on their faces. Very nice use of colored pencil too, you can feel the weight and texture of the bear. Great colors and shadows as well, overall a lovey piece!

The squirrel's expression is priceless! I love how you handled the topic, and the bear's fur. Great use of the medium.

I just love all of your artwork. I can tell you enjoy what you do and your work shows a sensitivity for the animals you paint and draw.

Beautiful texture. And a very cute and innocent way to portray such a grizzly (get it? Ha. Ha.) for the poor squirrel!! Hehe

It is wonderful and it made me giggle. Squirrels can be so foolish sometimes.

I can't believe that it is just good old fashioned colour pencil. I shall have to dig out my old school pencil case and revive my forgotten medium
