I had a hard time with this week's theme because the first thing I thought of was myself! Apparently so did some other IF'ers (they didn't think of me - they thought of themselves!! Maybe now they'll think of me...) I figure one of the geeky things I used to do was read alot. I mean, ALL the time. When my best friend used to come over to play I would be reading - so she would pick up a book and read too! So I thought of the "bookworm" and that is what I painted today - gouache on illustration board.
I suppose that might be more nerdy than geeky? Let me know what you think:)

Kelly, he's adorable! (Or she!) I love how the page in the book looks turning. You did a great job with the color and the details. Thanks for visiting my blog...great minds do think alike, don't we? :) That's 'cause we read all the time, huh?
Fantastically painted! I think a lot of us were/are book worms, so it's a wonderful concept!
Kelly!!! Excellent illustration!! I feel so much like the book worm you did!!! Congratulations and keep up the great work!!
i lov to read and i dont consider myself geeky nerdy or dorky but maybe these cocepts are lil after me or i nevr paid attention to em which ever it doesnt matter. love the concept and the detail of the
tail flipping the page, wonderfully done, nicely painted
Oh. he's very sweet, and I usually can't say that about worms:)
Wonderful illo! Nice details and clever touches. Keep it up!
Great illustration, Kelly!
i think it's a wonderful illo and very sweet as well!
Great idea! Wonderful illustration.
What a delightful bookworm! I love the way it turns the page with it's tail!
And yes, I am a nerd too, though not nearly technically adept enough to call myself a geek.
cute cute cute...I think a reader is more of a nerd, and a geek is more of an electronics/computer person.
Haha...awesome!
Hey Kelly, I thought it was a terrific illustration. For a second there I thought you'd drawn the worm & put him in a photo of a library -- that's how realistic it is! And I'll always think of you whenever I see the Trixie Belden books!
I think its kinda creepy, but great idea nontheless...
Very cute character, and beautifully painted. At first I thought the bookshelves in the background were a photograph.
What a wonderful painting, Kelly. It is so rich in color and details, and Mr. Bookworm is just perfect, I love his concentration.
It truly is a great ilustration!
this is too cute for words.... You should consider taking it to you local library (suggesting a poster) or something
Kelly. This is awesome! You should post more often... your works are great.
