Okay, I was bothered by how the ugly duckling's face turned out (I am never 100% satisfied with any of the art I do!) but I decided to try to change it and this is how it turned out. Is the first one better or the second?
I think this second duckling looks sadder and scared, so you were able to alter his expression, especially compared with the fierce look on the ducks' faces.
I feel just like you, Kelly, most of the time I'm not 100% satisfied with my artwork either, we can be a bit too critical with ourselves. I think sometimes it's a good thing, because it drives us to try again and improve, but other times the best thing is to put the artwork aside for a little while and then look at it again for a fresh look. That's when we can discover that it is good after all, we just couldn't see it right away because of that harsh critical voice inside our heads. :-)
Adorable duckling, I prefer the second one 'cause the first looks cross and the one you worked on looks, as monica said, looks more defenceless and sad.

Adorable duckling!
HMMM....I LIKE BOTH ACTUALLY. I GUESS IT DEPENDS ON THE EMOTION YOU ARE TRYING TO PORTRAY IN THE UGLY DUCKLING. I THINK BOTH ARE GREAT.
