Plain - Illustration Friday

Girl brushing a plain bay horse.
I thought this would work with the topic, then I realized that I goofed - can any horse-y people catch my goof? Anyway - this is gouache on Arches paper.
Do you think this would work as a postcard to publishers, or should I make more samples?
Let me know what you think, again since I don't paint people very often!

White blaze?
Black legs?

Yes, elizt got it, a plain bay would not have any white on it!

I think she may need a small ladder. :-)

I love your rich colors, Kelly, and this one is no exception. The one you did for "stitch" as well, that seal looks so real and has such a nice, smooth feel to it!

I find drawing people hard too, I can't quite get all the poses right.

I like how she is reaching up, on tiptoes on one of her feet and her big eyes. I think this would be a nice postcard!

Thanks Kelly! Whenever I build up the courage, I will dabble into different medias.
